Out of a Tree:

« From a tree, the city ! »

Out of a Tree: Architecture - Campus Mana
Out of a Tree: Architecture - Campus Mana
The program Out of a Tree : Architecture allows the participants to work on the scale of a tree to imagine tomorrow’s housing. Which intelligence of the hand can go with the material to avoid the waste? How, from a single tree, the human-being can recreate his/her natural housing? From the leaves to the roots, this metamorphic experimentation is confronting the human being to his/her own scale and questions the tree’s position in the universe of the living within our contemporary society. The wood, this natural material, biodegradable and renewable, possesses a great agility that allows any architectural audacity. This program will lead the participants to go deeper within the creation and the wood assembling techniques, more specifically linked to the wooden structure and the scale model architectural elements, and the use of standing tools, electro-portable or manual.

Content and forms of teaching

Ma.Na’s innovative teaching is based on the contributions of renowned designers/architects, craftsmen specialized in their discipline and theoreticians who shed light on, and put into perspective, the creative journey of the training. Ma.Na's team accompanies the participant through a range of complementary activities:
